Michael Rodgers has been appointed chief financial officer at Baltimore-based Brightview Senior Living.
Rodgers brings more than two decades of financial and strategic experience to Brightview, having most recently been a partner at Access Holdings, a private equity firm specializing in essential service-based, middle market investments.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Cornell University as well as an MBA from University of Oxford Saïd Business School.
Rodgers succeeds Brightview Partner and Executive Vice President Jeffrey Hettleman in the CFO role. As part of this planned succession strategy, Hettleman will remain an active partner, investor and adviser and will focus on strategic initiatives that support the company and its capital strategies. Hettleman joined Brightview, then known as The Shelter Group, in 1994. Rodgers and Hettleman will work side-by-side to help ensure a seamless transition.
Better Living, a senior living operator in Solon, IA, is now under the ownership of Nick and Dani Merlino.
The Merlinos have a combined 35 years of experience. Better Living supports 14 communities throughout Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Mark Barglof joined Lifespace Communities on May 29 as the new executive director of The Waterford in Juno Beach, FL.
He brings to the role more than 25 years of leadership experience in senior living and healthcare, including executive roles at Presbyterian Village in Georgia and the Good Samaritan Society in Florida.
Barglof is former college football player who holds bachelor’s degrees in both long-term care administration and hospital/business administration from Concordia College. He is a licensed nursing home administrator.

Amy Sarro has been named associate executive director of Brooksby Village, an Erickson Senior Living-managed continuing care retirement community in Peabody, MA.
Sarro started her career with Erickson in 2008 and has held a variety of leadership positions across several communities. Most recently, she was director of continuing care at Eagle’s Trace in West Houston, TX.
Sarro holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland.

Emma Dvorak has been promoted to the position of assistant administrator at The Springs at Monarch Landing, a Life Care Services community in Naperville, IL.
Dvorak’s relationship with Monarch Landing began in 2011, when she worked as a server in the Millstone Restaurant while attending high school. The relationship inspired her to pursue a degree in therapeutic recreation at Eastern Illinois University.
After graduating in 2017, Dvorak continued to build her career in senior wellness and fitness programs. She returned to Monarch Landing as life enrichment coordinator at The Springs and later was promoted to director of life enrichment.
In fall 2023, Dvorak decided to pursue her nursing home administrator license, passing the Illinois exam in April 2024, followed by both portions of the national exam later that year. She officially received her license in December.
Kim Anderson has been named director of marketing at Wake Robin in Shelburne, VT. Former marketing director MaryBeth Dudley will transition to a new role as director of community advancement.
Anderson spent almost 15 years with the Community Health Centers of Burlington, where she was director of development and communications. Other previous roles include director of development at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont.
San Clemente, CA-based CareTrust REIT has announced the hiring of Roger Laty as senior vice president of tax and Derek Bunker as senior vice president of strategy and investor relations.
Laty brings more than 30 years of tax leadership experience in the real estate industry, with expertise in real estate investment trusts and joint ventures. Most recently, he was vice president – tax at UDR for 12 years.
Bunker brings leadership experience in post-acute care and healthcare services real estate. He formerly was the chief investment officer and executive vice president of The Pennant Group.
John Kane has been named senior vice president of reimbursement policy at the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living, effective immediately, AHCA/NCAL announced Monday. He succeeds Martin Allen, who is retiring later this year.
Kane has more than 15 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid services, specializing in skilled nursing facility payment systems and healthcare policy development. Before joining AHCA/NCAL, he was an expert on SNF program and policy issues at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for more than a decade. There, he spearheaded the creation and implementation of the Patient Driven Payment Model, the Medicare Part A reimbursement model for SNFs, which pays providers based on individual patient needs and characteristics, rather than by volume.
Jonathan Grenier has been named president of healthcare lending at Forbright Bank in Chevy Chase, MD.
Grenier previously was a managing director of Forbright’s healthcare lending division, where he has worked since 2016. Before joining Forbright Bank, he held various roles at EY and M&T Bank. Grenier is a graduate of Amherst College in Massachusetts.
Additionally, Forbright announced that Jared Richards will lead healthcare originations and underwriting in his role as managing director. Brent Hodges will lead portfolio management in his position as director of healthcare lending, and Jon Camps will continue to lead all HUD lending in his role as managing director. Jim Pieczynski will continue to serve as a senior adviser with the healthcare lending team.
George Kutnerian, co-founder, president and CEO of Fresno, CA-based Wellpointe has been selected by the California Department of Health Care Services to serve on the Medi-Cal Home and Community-Based Services Integration Planning Workgroup. Kutnerian is one of 24 people chosen to help guide the integration of key HCBS programs into Medi-Cal managed care.
Kutnerian has almost 15 years of HCBS provider experience as CEO of Wellpointe. He is legislative director and senior vice president of public policy and legislation of 6Beds, Inc., a California trade association representing approximately 2,000 residential care facilities for the elderly and adult residential facilities.
Tom Trice has been hired as senior director of operations for the primeVIEW team at Prime Care Technologies in Duluth, GA.
Trice will focus on enhancing the primeVIEW platform’s capabilities, fostering client relationships and driving initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals.
