Patchy dense fog this morning, showers and storms loom this afternoon | June 6, 2025
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The active weather pattern will continue into the weekend and beyond.
We’re monitoring a few patchy areas of dense fog, particularly in southern parts of central Indiana. This fog may expand during the early to mid-morning hours across all of Central Indiana. Be cautious of limited visibility during the morning commute.

Any fog that develops should dissipate by mid-morning. A few isolated showers are possible through the mid- to late morning, but most areas will see partly to mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s.

An upper-level wave moving along a stationary boundary in southern Indiana may trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms during the mid- to late afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms could occur anytime after 2 PM. There is a chance that one or two storms could become severe, mainly south of I-70, with the primary concern being damaging straight-line winds.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue through much of the evening, gradually subsiding during the early to mid-overnight hours.

Expect partial clearing overnight with lows dropping to the mid-60s.
The active weather pattern will persist into the weekend. A few isolated rain showers are possible Saturday morning in southern parts of the state, but most areas will experience partly cloudy skies for the first half of Saturday.
An upper-level low will move through the state in the afternoon, increasing the chances of showers and thunderstorms for the second half of Saturday. While storms could develop as early as mid-afternoon, the most widespread and heaviest rain is likely during the early to mid-evening hours.

There is also a chance for gusty storms Saturday afternoon and evening, with damaging winds as the primary concern.

High temperatures will reach near 80°F, likely before the rain arrives in central Indiana.

A few scattered showers and thunderstorms may linger into early Sunday morning. The rest of Sunday will likely be quiet with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s.
A cold front will move through on Monday, bringing another chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

Drier conditions are expected as high pressure settles in for the middle of the week, bringing temperatures back to near normal or slightly above normal for Wednesday and Thursday.
