Columbus, Ohio (WSYX) — Scattered showers & storms today, then less rain Saturday. More rain is returning on Sunday and Monday.
- TUESDAY: Isolated rain & storms, partly cloudy, high 78.
- WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny, high 79.
- THURSDAY: Mostly sunny, high 83.
Good Friday morning! Vastly different weather for parts of Central Ohio this morning. We have dense fog to the north, with visibilities around a quarter of a mile or less. Southern Ohio has heavy rain and thunderstorms. We also have some flooding concerns, from the heavy rain within the last 24 hours, so be sure to turn around if you come up to a flooded roadway. A few more isolated showers are starting to pop up in Western Ohio and heading east towards Central Ohio. Isolated showers and storms this morning and then a break from the rain for a large chunk of the day. We will have another kick of energy this afternoon and evening, especially in Southern Ohio, for more scattered showers and storms. We are going to go with a 60% chance of rain for today, because we will have pockets of rain across the area, but not widespread for everyone. Temperatures are starting off in the upper 60s and we will warm to around 80 this afternoon with high humidity making it feel a little warmer. The chance of severe weather is low for today, but a few gusty storms may reach severe criteria.
Dry Saturday, then more rain Sunday. Saturday will start with patchy fog, then we will have a mix of sun & clouds, with temps going from around 63 to a high around 79. Slightly lower humidity on Saturday with a light breeze out of the northeast. There is only about a 20% chance of rain on Saturday and that will primarily be in the very early morning hours or late in the evening. So most of Saturday is expected to be dry for Central Ohio. Sunday, we get an area of low pressure to come racing back into Ohio for a 70% chance for rain. Scattered showers and storms are likely with a high around 78. The timing of the rain looks to be midday into the afternoon and evening, but confidence on exact timing is still rather low because 24 hours ago it appeared to come through earlier. High temperature around 78 on Sunday with higher humidity due to the rain.
Another quick round of rain to start our workweek next week, then drying out. Monday will have a 60% chance of rain with another disturbance sliding through. More scattered showers and storms for Monday into Monday evening, with a high of 78. There is a slight chance, 30% chance, for some rain to linger into early Tuesday. Decreasing clouds after the rain leaves on Tuesday, with a high around 78. We slowly start warming back to around 80 or the lower 80s by the middle of the week with more sunshine. Have a good one!
