Wheel of Fortune fans were thrilled when they learned iconic host Pat Sajak would be back to host Celebrity Wheel of Fortune one last time this summer. Of course, seeing him back with Vanna White brought plenty of nostalgia. He hosted the show for four decades, and Pat and Vanna go together like peanut butter and grape jelly. When Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak as host, fans realized quickly they liked strawberry jelly and peanut butter, too. It’s a different taste, but still very enjoyable. When Pat came back to the show, he let fans know how happy he felt on stage.
“I am delighted to have one more shot at hosting Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” he said in a clip with Vanna. “I’m very happy to be here, and I want to thank Ryan Seacrest for allowing me to come back for this season.”
After appearing on stage with Vanna White, Pat Sajak cut to a video of Ryan Seacrest.
“You alright back there, Ryan?” Pat quipped.
We see Ryan trying to open the door to his dressing room, implying Pat locked him in.
“Sajak!” he said. “You said he’d be right back with the key.”
A shocked Vanna looks at Pat, who gives a sly grin and tells her not to worry—there’s plenty of ventilation.
Fans loved seeing the Wheel of Fortune team having fun.
“We miss you Pat but, you deserve more than anything Your Retirement!! You earned it and Ryan really is doing a great job !! Have fun and let Ryan out soon,” a fan shared.
The joke brought plenty of laughs. “Poor Ryan. And Vanna’s shocking look on her face made me laugh!”
This fan loved seeing Pat Sajak and Ryan Seacrest ribbing each other.
“That was so funny. They should co-host one episode too. Just something to add for all of us former contestants. Would be amazing. I am loving the creative work you are all doing this season. Excellent job,” a fan wrote.
