Osun govt warns against invasion by 'sacked' council executives

Osun State Government yesterday warned against alleged invasion by ‘sacked’ council executives of facilities at the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state.
The state government through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr Adekunle Akindele, alleged that one of the embattled chairmen, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), invaded PHCs in Ilesa Local Government.
He said the chairman invaded Okeoye PHC (Ward 8), Irojo PHC (Ward 9), Okesa PHC (Ward 7), Ilemo PHC (Ward 4) and Ijamo PHC (Ward 5) on the pretext that he was conducting a working visit.
Akindele tagged the working visit of the chairman as an illegal incursion and an act of lawlessness, warning PHC workers to distance themselves from ‘unauthorised visitors’.
He said: “The visit is unauthorised, unlawful and designed to intimidate health care workers as well as disrupt essential medical services.’’
