Orezi Discusses Receiving N30 Million from Abuja Woman

Nigerian singer Esegine Allen, known professionally as Orezi, has recently shared details of a remarkable encounter in Abuja back in 2016. In an interview with Echo Room, Orezi revealed that he received a substantial gift of N30 million from a woman he met at a club. Orezi clarified that this wasn't a payment for sexual services but rather an act of appreciation from the woman after they spent the night together.
"I wouldn’t say she paid me for sex. She only appreciated me for satisfying her," Orezi stated, emphasizing the voluntary nature of the gift. He explained that the woman gave him the money simply because she liked him. "She gave me the money because she liked me. If you like a lady, won’t you spend on her? We weren’t dating, but we had something going on. I didn’t ask for the money. She gave it to me willingly as a fine boy," he added.
Orezi recounted meeting the woman at a club in Abuja. After a night of partying, they went back to her place. The singer described her as a "nice Aboki (Hausa) woman." The following day, as Orezi prepared to return to Lagos, he received a message from her requesting his account details. To his surprise, she then transferred N30 million into his account.
"I was shocked. I wasn’t expecting it. When I got to Lagos, she sent a message to check up on me and requested my account details. I sent it, and she sent me N30 million. When I showed my friends the alert, they were shocked that a woman could gift a man such an amount," Orezi narrated.
Orezi also touched on the broader topic of financial gifts within the celebrity sphere, suggesting that many male celebrities enjoy similar privileges. "A lot of male celebrities enjoy the same privilege. I feel like it’s a normal thing. I know a couple of artists who do. I’m sure they enjoy the same privilege. The same way there’s fine girl privilege, there’s also the privilege of being a celebrity," he asserted.
In the same interview, Orezi reflected on past relationships and promises, including one where he had promised a lady a house but didn't follow through. He also commented on the controversy surrounding Burna Boy and allegations of promising a Lamborghini to a socialite in exchange for intimacy. Orezi admitted to making unfulfilled promises himself, while also pointing out that women are equally capable of making promises they don't keep.
"I have promised before. I have never promised a babe N300 million before. Am I crazy? I have promised to give a girl a house before. But I did not deliver. How am I going to buy a house?" he said, adding, "Girls also promise men. Sometimes they would promise to stay with you forever... Men’s promises are always audible. Men want things. Women promise you unnecessarily."
Orezi emphasized that his encounter with the northern woman in 2016 was purely based on mutual attraction and goodwill. "Women have done me well because I did them before... She gave me because she liked me. We were not dating but we had something going on. I had money too. She looked at me as a fine boy," he explained.
Orezi gained recognition in the Nigerian music industry with his blend of Afrobeats, dancehall, and reggae influences. His 2013 hit single ‘Rihanna’ propelled him to fame, and his 2015 debut album, The Ghen Ghen Album, featured popular tracks like ‘Shuperu’ and ‘Ogede.’
