In a heartfelt, lengthy social media post, Boyd noted that he wanted to complete the projects his father initiated.

This would only be possible if Kasipul residents elected him as their MP.

An MP's office becomes vacant when they die, and a by-election is then held to fill the seat

Boyd said that with the support of Kasipul constituents, he would ensure his father’s vision for the constituency is fulfilled

He wrote:

"Dear Kasipul Constituents, I humbly step forward to continue the development journey my father began. His vision for a better Kasipul remains alive in me, and I am committed to seeing every project he initiated completed. With your full support, we will walk this journey together, steadfast and united, until the dream is fully realized."

Were's second wife Margaret, during his burial, claimed that her husband had educated 830 kids.

She alleged that the late politician gave children from his constituency scholarships.

Boyd affirmed this, promising that if elected, the sponsorships will continue without interruption.

"The Milele na Milele narrative will not end. The students my father sponsored will continue their education without interruption. To the widows he supported, I stand as your elder son, ready to continue that care. And to the youth who found mentorship and opportunity in him, I am your fellow youth, and I will carry forward that same spirit of empowerment," he said.

The young man noted that his father's legacy lives on through him, and he would help build a stronger and more inclusive Kasipul.

"Let us move forward as one people, one purpose, and one future. The legacy lives on, and together we will build a stronger, more inclusive Kasipul for generations to come," he added.

Here is what they had to say:

Bony Otieno:

"Mhesh as you're embarking on this murky journey of politics, be a peace ambassador, always preach peace and unity among the great Kasipulians. Pick the good that your hardworking late Dad was undertaking and leave all that was bad. Remember that a right path leads to a desired destination... count on my vote."

Walter Otieno Nyakinda:

"Is ok but remember it is not hereditary. People are not given leadership on account of pain they go through but on vision they carry. Just sell your agenda and spell out your vision very well for people to consider."

Wìlsøn Jøshùa Abuto:

"Kasipul manyien, the Home of Growth and Development. Sponsored by Hon Boyd Were."

Frank Philip Amwata

"All the very best comrade, we will walk with you."

In other news, had reported that the ODM Party had announced its intention to retain the MP seat in Kasipul.

The ODM chairman, Evans Ndege, for the Kasipul branch previously revealed the party's plan to endorse one of Were's family members.
