NYS Fair puts more '70s, '80s rock music on concert lineup
The New York State Fair is putting more ‘70s and ‘80s rock music to this year’s concert lineup.
Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute will perform at Chevy Court on Monday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. Another tribute band, Tusk, playing the music of Fleetwood Mac, will take the Chevy Court stage on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m.
Both concerts are free with admission to the NYS Fair.
Slippery When Wet, led by Jon Bon Jovi lookalike Jason Morey, has been performing the music of Bon Jovi for more than two decades. The band’s hits include “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Runaway,” “It’s My Life,” “Bed of Roses,” “Bad Medicine” and “Livin’ On a Prayer.”
Tusk, the Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute, celebrates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group with “love and respect for the original band, and vocal similarities and costuming.” Fleetwood Mac songs include “Dreams,” “Landslide,” “Go Your Own Way,” “Silver Springs,” “Rhiannon” and “Everywhere.”
“We have a ton of great up and coming artists playing original works that we’re excited to introduce fairgoers to this summer, but we’re also so thrilled to get to work with bands like Slippery When Wet and Tusk,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “These artists are truly masters of their craft – not only paying homage to some of the greatest songwriters and musicians of all time but putting on a fantastic show too. I know fairgoers of all ages are going to enjoy these entertainers – don’t miss out on these performances!’”
Other ‘70s and ‘80s-era acts on the 2025 schedule include The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA (Aug. 20), Cheap Trick (Aug. 21), Steve Miller Band (Aug. 21), Lynyrd Skynyrd (Aug. 28), and Yacht Rock Revue (Aug. 29).
All NYS Fair shows are free to attend with admission to the Fair, which is $8 for adults. Admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.
More than 40 national acts will perform on the Fair’s two main stages, Chevy Court and Suburban Park, booked under the Fair’s new five-year agreement with concert promoter Romeo Entertainment Group (REG).
Chevy Court (located near Gate 1) will feature two shows daily at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., while the larger Suburban Park stage will host an 8 p.m. concert each night. DJ Pauly D and The Lady Gaga Tribute will perform “special shows” on Friday nights (Aug. 22 and 29, respectively) at 9 p.m. at Chevy Court, while concerts on the last day (Labor Day) will take place at different times.
The 2025 New York State Fair runs from Wednesday, Aug. 20, through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1.
