Nothing Phone (3) Release Date: iPhone Challenger Confirms New Flagship Coming Soon
Tech innovator Nothing has just revealed that its anticipated smartphone, Nothing Phone (3), is nearly here. The company had previously said it would be this year and now it has revealed exactly when: Tuesday, July 1.
Nothing Phone (2) — will Phone (3) have a completely different look?
NothingIf you click on to the company’s website, nothing.tech, you’ll see the words “Come to play,” along with the information, “Phone (3). 1 July, 18:00 BST,” which tells us both the date and time of the announcement.

It doesn’t say where such an announcement will take place or whether it will be virtual or in-person, but a live event seems likely to me as Nothing has held such events before. As to location, Nothing is proud of being based in London, so the fact that the time is stated in BST makes me think that’s where it could be held.
The time of 6 p.m. BST, by the way, is 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m Eastern. The same time of day that Apple always uses to reveal its iPhones, for instance. And Nothing is often regarded as a challenger to the iPhone.
The onscreen activity also includes an animated panel of a white dot matrix display on a black background, supplemented by quirky little noises that briefly conjure up classic video games such as Space Invaders. The same information is also hosted in a post on X.
There’s no further detail as to what this might mean, though Nothing had previously said on May 29, “we killed the Glyph interface,” so this could be the replacement.
In case you don’t know, the Glyph system is a series of LED lights that shine through the transparent back of all Nothing Phone models, until now. The new phone, it seems, could feature a more advanced lighting array instead.
On the website, there’s also a button to sign up to find out more about the launch. Nothing has been growing fast, with two Nothing phones, Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, and one from its sub-brand CMF launched this year already. But the Phone (3) is the one that’s been most keenly awaited. And now, here it comes.
