North Central APC Stakeholders Meet in Abuja to Strategise for 2027 Elections, According to Source
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in the North Central Zone are currently meeting in Abuja for what a source described realignment to maintain the party’s leadership in the 2027 political space.
Although the details of the meeting are sketchy, sources said it is most likely to restate their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
ARISE News reports that all the five APC Governors in the North Central Zone are attending the meeting.
They Governors are Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Usman Ododo (Kogi) and AbdulRaman Abdulrasaq (Kwara), who is also the chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF).
Other dignitaries are the National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Barnabas Germade; former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris and Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN).
The list also include a former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello; former Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura; and former Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello.
Governor AbdulRaman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State in his opening speech called on Nigerians to support Tinubu beyond 2027.
According to him, other parties such as the PDP and Labour Party (LP) are in crises because everyone of them wants to be President.
