Arsenal fans are anticipating a busy summer transfer window, following their near-miss in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Gunners finished second for the third season running in the English top flight. Last season, they finished behind Liverpool and then lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final.

Martin Zubimendi is reportedly close to joining the club from Real Sociedad as the first signing.

"We need that, for sure," Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said about summer signings, per Sky Sports.
"With the numbers that we started the season and [the numbers] to provide for next season, with the demands we're going to have and especially with the players that we have who are coming through long-term surgeries, it's very unrealistic [to deliver trophies]."

The Gunners' title challenge was severely impacted by season-ending injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

They have been linked with several strikers, including Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Alexander Isak. Madueke is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Madueke's situation at Stamford Bridge.

The England winger is not on sale, the report adds, but is not considered untouchable. However, the Gunners are yet to make an approach or hold talks with their London rivals. It added that Arteta's side wants to sign a wide player and a striker.

The 23-year-old is reportedly one of the most sought-after profiles, and most believe he could be sold in the summer transfer market.

Bukayo Saka is Arsenal's first-choice starter on the right, so it remains to be seen how Arteta will line his team up if they sign Madueke.

Madueke started 27 Premier League matches last season and played in the UEFA Conference League final, which they won 4-1.

Earlier, explored how Premier League fixtures are compiled, following the release of next season's match schedule.

Fixture compilation begins early in the year, with fans being consulted before clubs are asked when they would prefer to play at home.

Several factors, such as international fixtures and UEFA competitions, play a role in determining the fixtures.
