Nigerian President Commends Traditional Ruler of Nupe Kingdom
The Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the traditional ruler of Nupe Kingdom, Etsu Yahaya Abubakar for his contribution to nation building and national development as he marks 72 birthday and 21 years on throne, as Etsu of Nupe Kingdom.
President Tinubu who was represented by Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris made the statement during a launch of Etsu Yahaya Foundation, which is an Agricultural colloquium to mark the Etsu Anniversaries, in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.
He said he aligns with the agricultural vision of the father of the Nupe Kingdom and by extension the traditional institutions in this country.

The Etsu called on government at all levels to continue to implement more meaningful policies and provide basic amenities like water, housing, and electricity among others that would enhance the standard of living for the people.
He added that and that he “believe Mr President, the government and other stakeholders are equal to the task.”
The keynote speaker at the colloquium, former Nigeria’s Minister of Agricultural and Rural Development, Dr. Audu Ogbe said that “The food problem is a serious one, and we have to deal with it quickly if not, other problems will emerge”.
Dr. Ogbe also commended the Nigerian government for taking steps beginning with the arrival of two thousand tractors a few days ago, and more tractors to come.
He emphasized that “While the federal government is emphasing investment in that sector,” other “sub nationals” should show “corresponing interest”.
The colloquium brought together traditional rulers, technocrats, business moguls, government officials and philanthropists, and diplomats to launch an agricultural empowerment Foundation of Etsu Yahaya Abubakar of Nupe Kingdom in Northcentral Nigeria.
