Nick Mudimba: Pilot Mourns Journalist, Shares Little Known Facts About Him

His close friend a seasoned aviator, Captain Iain Njiraini, took to Instagram to share a never-before-seen aspect of Mudimba’s life, his love for flying.

Njiraini posted a video of the late journalist stepping out of a Cessna aircraft in full pilot uniform, revealing that Mudimba was also a trained pilot.

The video captured Mudimba doing what he knew best; interviewing Njiraini as he explained the ins and outs of the light aircraft, all while they laughed.

"Some friendships leave an everlasting mark on our lives, and Nick Mudimba was one of those friends. He introduced me to media, and I introduced him to aviation—our passions crossed paths in a way that shaped both of us," Njiraini wrote in his emotional tribute.

He went on to describe Mudimba’s impact, saying:

"Nick left a lasting impact on me, not just in what he taught me, but in the person he was—kind, driven, and always uplifting those around him. This video from 2020 captures the Nick I will always remember—jovial, passionate, and full of life. Rest well, my friend. Your legacy lives on. RIP Nick."

Speaking exclusively to , Iain Njiraini explained that he considered Mudimba both a mentor and a brother.

He recalled how Mudimba played a pivotal role in his career:

"He was a good friend. He is the one who used to get me all the TV shows I did. He pushed me all the time to be what I am," he shared.

The untimely passing of Mudimba has left a deep sense of loss, with heartfelt tributes pouring in from friends, colleagues, and fans.
