Hot Fuzz actor Nick Frost is heading to Hogwarts. As the cast of the Harry Potter reboot series comes together at HBO, it's looking like Frost is becoming the next actor to take on a major role.

While the casting hasn't been officially confirmed, chatter about Frost possibly joining the show emerged on March 20 when the Shaun of the Dead star posted a cryptic message on Instagram. Frost rose to fame as Simon Pegg's co-star in the hit zombie comedy film Shaun of the Dead, which was released in 2004. The cast of the new Harry Potter series is coming together. It was recently confirmed that John Lithgow had signed on to play Dumbledore. Janet McTeer and Paapa Essiedu are also reportedly set to respectively play Professor Minerva McGonagall and Professor Severus Snape. Those roles were originally played by Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman. While Lithgow personally confirmed his casting, HBO has been holding back from offering official announcements just yet.
"We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumor and speculation,” a network rep said in a statement. “As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalize deals.”

The Harry Potter reboot will be directed by Mark Mylod and with showrunner Francesca Gardiner serving as a writer. Both are also executive producing the series. While original author and franchise creator J.K. Rowling has become a very controversial figure since the movies were released, she is still working closely with the TV show's team for the new adaptation. The show is expected to last for longer than a decade, with each book in the original novel series serving as inspiration for a season.
The Harry Potter reboot series doesn't yet have a premiere date but it is expected to debut on HBO and Max in 2026.
