NFL: Jedrick Wills Jr. to sit out 2025 NFL season amid ongoing knee recovery

, the former Cleveland Browns offensive tackle and 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, plans to sit out most or possibly all of the 2025 NFL season as he continues to recover from persistent knee injuries. This decision, reported by Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz, reflects Wills' commitment to prioritizing his long-term health and career.

Wills, 26, emerged as a promising left tackle after a standout college career at Alabama. He started 48 of his first 53 games in the NFL, anchoring the Browns' offensive line.

However, injuries have plagued him in recent seasons, limiting him to just 13 appearances and 12 starts over the past two years. In 2024, he played only 245 offensive snaps, about 20.8 percent of Cleveland's total, and struggled with mobility, surrendering three sacks and committing seven penalties.

Pro Football Focus has never graded Wills higher than 52nd among qualified tackles during his five-year career. In 2024, his overall grade was 52.9, ranking 108th out of 140 tackles.

Despite interest from multiple teams, Wills believes that taking time off to fully heal is the best move for his long-term future. "Wills is trying to rehab a knee injury," Schultz noted, emphasizing the player's focus on recovery.

The Browns have moved forward without Wills, solidifying their offensive line with Dawand Jones and Jack Conklin as their starting tackles. Veteran Cornelius Lucas was signed to serve as a swing tackle, providing depth and experience.
