After captivating audiences with his unforgettable role in Sacred Games, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to return to the world of streaming. According to reports, the acclaimed actor will lead the Indian adaptation of the popular American medical drama House. The new series, which is being developed for Disney+ Hotstar, marks Siddiqui's first long-format project in six years since his last web series appearance.

The original House, created by David Shore, ran for eight seasons between 2004 and 2012.

The show followed Dr. Gregory House, a brilliant but misanthropic diagnostician who leads a team at the fictional Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. House is renowned for his unconventional methods and a penchant for solving complex medical cases that baffle others.

Now, the Indian version aims to reimagine this medical drama for a local audience.

Produced by Banijay Asia and helmed by filmmaker Vijay Maurya, known for his work on Gully Boy, Darlings, and Agni, the adaptation is currently in pre-production.

Filming is expected to begin in mid-2025.

While the show's official Indian title has not been revealed, sources suggest that the essence of House will remain intact while incorporating cultural nuances that resonate with Indian viewers.

Taking on the lead role, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will step into the shoes of the sharp-witted, morally ambiguous doctor—originally portrayed by Hugh Laurie.

Known for his intense performances in films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Raman Raghav 2.0, Siddiqui is expected to bring his signature depth and complexity to the character.

Though the series is still in its early stages, production is set to begin later this year.

Fans can expect more updates in the coming months, including casting details for the supporting characters and an official release timeline.

Given the popularity of House and Siddiqui's strong screen presence, the adaptation has already generated significant buzz among audiences.
