According to eyewitnesses, the youths approached the State House under suspicious circumstances, raising the alarm among security personnel.
In the Monday, March 11 incident, the Recce Squad, known for its specialised training in handling high-risk situations, acted swiftly to prevent unauthorised access to State House.
The elite unit’s quick response ensured that the situation was brought under control without further escalation.
Within moments, the heavily armed officers engaged them, leading to the arrest of the 12 individuals who were bundled in a van.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to determine the motives behind the attempted breach.
Security officials have further reassured the public that there is no imminent danger, adding that protective measures are still being enforced to ensure the safety of the nation’s most vital facilities.
In another daring adventure, a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) student was in 2019 shot while attempting to scale the perimeter wall of the State House.

The incident occurred when the student tried to access the highly secured State House compound.
Security officers responded by shooting him, after which he was rushed to KNH for medical attention.
However, it emerged that the student was no longer at the hospital, raising questions about his whereabouts.
Authorities remained tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, leaving many to speculate about what might have happened.
Some sources suggested he might have been transferred to another facility, while others raised concerns about potential foul play.
The student’s family has expressed frustration over the lack of information, urging the government to provide clarity on his condition and location.
As reported earlier, President William Ruto undertook renovations at the state house, modifying its structure by replacing the traditional red-tiled roof with a modern flat roof.
The changes immediately sparked public discussion, as the red tiles were a signature feature of the building.
The refurbishments were aimed at giving the state house a fresh, contemporary look.
Aerial images circulating online reveal that a significant section of the roof has been altered, reflecting the administration’s commitment to modernisation.
Reports suggest that apart from aesthetic improvements, the renovations may also involve structural upgrades to enhance the building’s functionality.
While some Kenyans have expressed admiration for the new design, others have questioned the necessity and cost of the project, considering the current economic challenges.
