Inside, he encountered his colleague, PC Emmanuel Juma, who confronted him, accusing him of having an affair with his girlfriend. The situation quickly turned violent, with Juma allegedly slapping Mwarsho multiple times before drawing his AK-47 rifle and firing a shot. The bullet narrowly missed Mwarsho, piercing through a metallic wall and a tube grill.

Although the spent cartridge was not recovered initially, Juma later surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody, with his firearm confiscated as evidence.
