Nuru Jaylan could not comprehend the untimely and painful demise of her young son, Jaylan Njoroge.

The heartbroken mother was devastated after unknown assailants brutally murdered her 13-year-old son.

"He died a painful death. According to how he was struggling he had stab wounds on his hands. He had been stabbed severally on his body and he did not have his shoes," she said.

The teenager had been missing for four days when his body was discovered in a thicket 400 metres away from his grandma's home.

The primary school pupil was on his way home from school when he went missing, only to be found dead.

"Police said they would look into the matter but have not told us anything yet. They asked us if there could be anyone who has a grudge against us but there was no one we could think of that we have an issue with," Njoroge's grandma, Jane Mumbi said.

Robert Jombe, Njoroge's father appealed for justice following the inhumane act on his young son.

He wanted to know the suspect and reason behind the agonising murder of his teenage son that left the family shattered.

Njoroge's devastated mum noted there was a rise in insecurity in the area which has worried residents.

"There is a woman who was abused and a young girl who was abused too. It means the same person who killed my son could be the same person behind all these heinous acts. I would want to know," she heartbreakingly said.

Social media users were broken for the family as they flocked to the comment section to share their reactions.

"This is probably the saddest news I've come across in 2025. Why would someone just wake up and do this? So sad. Rest in peace, young blood."

GetrudeNdanu-c1y:

"Oh, my heart aches. Lord comfort the family.
Jesus Master, forgive us and heal our land we plead."

kingedward2ochieng:

"It is heartbreaking. Those parents might be hiding something. Let them come out and say what they know. A kid of such age cannot just be killed that way then they say they completely know nothing."

BizSasa:

"Jesus Christ, why has the world become so evil?"

JoyliliLillian:

"May God protect our children. This is too much."

rosalynkaimuri1146:

"May our good lord take care of our children."
