The Santa Maria Public Library’s Music at the Library concert will feature Latin American Art Songs, 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in Shepard Hall, 4221 S. McClelland St.

Soprano Ursula Maria Kleinecke and pianist Lynne Garrett will present a selection of pieces from beloved Latin American composers, including “Pampamapa” by Carlos Guastavino, a composer from Argentina known for his art songs and piano compositions. Guastavino is often referred to as “the Schubert of the Pampas.”
Guastavino’s music is distinguished by its expressive melodies, romantic harmonies, and elements of Argentine folk traditions and dance rhythms. There will also be selections from Salvador Moreno, Mark Carlson, and Jaime León.
