In a tweet on Sunday, May 12, Kuria disclosed plans to revive his Chama Cha Kazi party, which he dissolved to join the United Democratic Alliance.

The former Trade Cabinet Secretary revealed that his party will field candidates in the upcoming by-elections, hinting at plans to revamp it ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kuria suggested that once the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) sets a date for the by-election, his party will be active.

"As we prepare to swear in the new IEBC , this party which was founded on 17th August 2021 is the party to watch. By-elections are looming. Battle Royale," Kuria said.

However, Kuria's tweet generated mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some daring him to resign from Ruto's government.

"Waziri Muthaaa I thought you folded this party and entered into the Kenya Kwanza Coalition?

Douglas Orang'i:

"You've unfolded it as a vehicle for bargaining like it happened in the last elections."

Geoffrey Bigo:

"Leo uliambiwa utoke kwa Serikali. Toka kwanza ndio tukubali mambo ya chama yako. Otherwise we consider your party as part of Kenya Kwanza."

@RonyoOleSakau:

"Ah, Moses Kuria back from political hibernation, rummaging through the garage like a retired wrestler trying to squeeze into his overused underwear 🩲 of relevance. UDA used your party like a boda boda in campaign season, overworked, underpaid, and dumped at the nearest corner once the job was done.

@ones_mc:

"Hauko kwa serikali Tena ama? Radaaaaa."

"We mzee uko opposition??"

Earlier, the senior government economic advisor hinted at the creation of a new political movement in preparation for the 2027 elections.

During a thanksgiving event for Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga at Ligisa Boys Secondary School on Sunday, November 10, Kuria compared the proposed coalition to the powerful Rainbow Movement of 2002.

He suggested that those who align with the movement early would have a significant advantage in shaping Kenya’s political future.

The former Trade Cabinet Secretary recently shared a cryptic message, subtly hinting at the likely winner of the 2027 presidential race.

In a tweet, Kuria drew comparisons between the upcoming election and those of 1992 and 1997, where the late President Daniel Moi emerged victorious.

He pointed out that while many things may change, Kenya’s political dynamics remain consistent.

Kuria promised to elaborate on his prediction in his next TV interview, though many Kenyans speculate that he was referring to a potential win for Ruto.
