On Thursday, May 15, suspected goons attempted to evade the venue where Gachagua was launching his Democracy for Citizens Party.

Minutes after the incident, Kindiki wrote on his social media page, urging Kenyans to exercise democratic tolerance and embrace issue-based politics.

According to Kindiki, the use of violence and insults to deal with political differences has no place in modern society.

"Our country must exercise democratic tolerance and embrace issue-based politics. Insults, violence and divisive rhetoric as a means of processing political differences of opinion have no place in our society.
"We owe the current and future generations a nation built on peace, peaceful coexistence and respect for one another, even if when we disagree on issues of policy," Kindiki said.

As reported, chaos erupted after rowdy goons stormed the venue where Gachagua was launching his new political outfit along the Musa Gitau Road in Lavington.

In a video that surfaced online, police officers swiftly intervened and fired warning shots in the air to disperse the goons who were approaching the gate.

Footage from the scene showed a man believed to be a police officer firing into the air while the crowd surged towards the gate.

During the chaos, some of the goons were cornered and assaulted as party officials were escorted to safety.

Likely, the incident occurred moments after the former deputy president had finished unveiling his new political vehicle.
