Megan Thee Stallion announced on Wednesday that she is partnering with Walmart to launch a self-designed swimwear brand, aptly named Hot Girl Summer.
The Hot Girl Summer collection will be available for purchase at nearly 500 Walmart stores across the country and online at walmart.com and megantheestallion.com, starting on Monday. Walmart will serve as the exclusive retail partner for the product drop, which will be available for a limited time only.
The initial collection will include an assortment of bikinis, monokinis, one-piece swimsuits and swimsuit cover-ups in multiple colors, including purple, gold, black, orange and pink. Prices for the 18-piece collection range from $16 to $28 and will feature 18 size-inclusive designs.
The rapper designed the entire collection, making her the first hip-hop artist to launch her own swimwear brand. “Everyone knows I love being near a pool or a beach, so I finally decided to turn my passion into a business and create my own swimwear brand,” the Grammy said in a statement. “It was only right that we kick off Hot Girl Summer with this launch and provide Hotties of all body types with the official Hot Girl uniform. I used to shop at Walmart growing up, so it’s a full circle to have my own line available at Walmart and I’m so grateful for their support.”
Megan revealed the news on Instagram by sharing campaign photos of her wearing the new bathing suit designs. In the photos, the rapper and the models wore purple swimsuits, like bikinis, a one-piece with bedazzled “Hot Girl Summer” written on the front, and one with butterfly embellishment on the straps.
In July 2019, the term “Hot Girl Summer” went viral on social media thanks to the rapper, who refers to her fanbase as the “Hotties.” The popularity of the phrase then inspired the release of a song by the same name, featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
The “Savage” rapper has previously worked with brands like True Religion and recently partnered with Airbnb. She also launched her own tequila brand, Chicas Divertidas Tequila, in February. Walmart has current apparel and home goods partnerships and collaborations with other celebrities like Sofia Vergara, Drew Barrymore, Jessica Simpson and more.
“At Walmart, we want our customers to feel confident by offering fashion that celebrates their individuality and unique style,” said Ryan Waymire, SVP women’s group, Walmart U.S. “Summer is around the corner and swim is a key category during the season. Megan embodies confidence and authenticity, and we’re excited to collaborate with her on an exclusive swim collection that completes the ultimate ‘Hot Girl Summer’ uniform, all at incredible prices we know customers will love.”
Walmart revealed its Q1 2025 earnings on Thursday, which were better than projected, but the retailer held off on providing profit guidance for Q2. First-quarter earnings slipped 12.1 percent to $4.5 billion. “We delivered a solid first quarter in a dynamic operating environment,” said Doug McMillon, president and chief executive officer, in a statement. “We’re serving customers and members in more ways, which is fueling our growth. We’re well positioned, maintaining flexibility to navigate the near term while continuing to invest to create value for the long term.”
