McDonald's releases limited edition matcha range at select stores in NSW and Victoria - 9Kitchen
M cDonald's has quietly added a cult-favourite beverage to its McCafe range.
You've no doubt seen the bright green beverage take over your local cafes and social media feeds, and now it seems matcha has made its way to the fast food giant.
McDonald's Australia confirmed to 9honey Kitchen a new limited edition matcha range has been released as a trial, but it is currently only available at select restaurants in two Australian states.
"Seeing green? Macca's is currently trialling a special treat in select restaurants across New South Wales and Victoria," a McDonald's Australia spokesperson told 9honey Kitchen.
As for whether the range will be expanded to other states or how long the limited edition range will be available, the fast food giant remains tight-lipped.
" While we can't confirm anything further yet… We can say: stay tuned," the spokesperson said.
Some creators on social media have stumbled across the limited edition beverage range at their local McDonald's.
TikTok creator Nina from Sydney shared a video of the menu at the McDonald's in Wynyard train station in Sydney, advertising a "New Matcha Range".
It displayed an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte , an Iced Matcha Latte and a regular Matcha Latte available for sale.
"Omg! Maccas sells Matcha," she wrote on the video.

She also shared a video of her receipt revealing that her Medium Iced Matcha with oat milk cost her $6.40 – a fairly average price for the popular drink.
The advertisement she filmed advertised a medium Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte for $6.60, a medium Iced Matcha Latte for $5.75 and a Matcha Latte for $5.25. As usual at the fast food cafe, alternative milks cost an additional fee.
After tasting the new treat, Nina revealed the matcha latte was "on the sweeter side, but really good".
Another creator, Caitlin Coroneos rushed to her local Macca's drive through to give the new Matcha range a try.
"Guys are you freaking seeing this ," Coroneos said in her TikTok video as she showed off a McCafe takeaway cup with a flat lid (IYKYK) filled to the brim with a vibrant green matcha latte.
"That's literally perfect," Coroneos said on her first try.
"I'm so specific with the way I like my matcha, I don't like it too grassy obviously I don't like it too sweet.
"The matcha flavour has to be there but it can't be too strong to the point it tastes like grass so it has to be sweet with a little bit of matcha and this is so perfect."
Matcha lattes tend to range from sweet and milky, to bitter and grassy depending on where you get them.
It seems McDonald's is catering to the sweet and milky matcha latte lovers.
