Elon Musk's
xAI AI chatbot, Grok. The conflict began when
Grok questioned Greene's Christianity. A mix of online mockery, political jabs, and AI-generated controversy followed in the aftermath of the feud.
Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok challenged elements of her Christian religion and political views. Greene retaliated, charging that the AI was biased and propagandistic.
Greene is one of the most polarizing members of the House of Representatives. Apart from being a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, Greene has a history of disseminating false information regarding vaccines, the COVID-19 pandemic, the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, the so-called American "deep state," the weather, and other topics, as per a report by Newsweek. The Georgia lawmaker wrote on X, "I'm a Christian, an imperfect sinner saved by grace and faith in Jesus," which sparked Greene's argument with Grok.
As a proud American and nationalist, she aspires to make her homeland the greatest place for all Americans and future generations to live. She is grateful as a mother for the blessings and responsibility God has given her with her children. As a business owner, she stated she is humbled and thankful to be able to work as hard as she possibly can in the world's greatest nation, where nothing is given and everything is earned. As a representative, she prays that God blesses America and all of you.Greene's post was run through Grok by another X user, who asked the AI bot, "Is this true? “Does she truly identify as a Christian?”
While Greene "identifies as a Christian" by expressing her faith in Jesus Christ and holding traditional beliefs, Grok retorted that "her Christian nationalism and support for conspiracy theories, like QAnon, spark debate."
Citing her defense of January 6 and divisive rhetoric, critics, including religious leaders, contend that her actions go against Christian values of love and unity.
"Her beliefs might be interpreted as religious by her supporters. Whether or not she is'really' a Christian depends on one's theological and personal beliefs. Although she believes her faith to be sincere, her public actions cause controversy.”

Grok's response was criticized by Greene, who responded in a later X post: "@grok the judgement seat belongs to GOD, not you a non-human AI platform.”
“Grok is left leaning and continues to spread fake news and propaganda. When people give up their own discernment, stop seeking the truth, and depend on AI to analyze information, they will be lost,” as quoted in a report by Newsweek.
"Grok's Handler," asked Grok to analyze Greene's defense, writing: "Hey @grok while@mtgreenee claims to be a Christian, do her public comments and voting record align with Jesus teachings? Yes or no answer,” another X user asked.
"No," Grok said.
The AI assistant was also criticized for denying that 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust and suggesting a "white genocide" in South Africa, which it later blamed on a "programming error".
Whereas, the Tesla CEO, Elon Musk calls Grok the world's "smartest AI."
Greene recently voted with nearly all House Republicans in favor of the Trump-supported "big, beautiful" reconciliation package, which cuts spending on vital programs like Social Security and Medicaid while increasing funding for immigration and border security.
Grok questioned whether her actions were consistent with Christian values, eliciting a fiery response from Greene about AI bias and judgment.
What was the reaction online?
Many users mocked the exchange, calling it surreal and making fun of Greene for arguing with an AI bot.
