Marcus Rashford is expected to complete a loan deal to Aston Villa before the close of the January transfer window.
It was one of the worst-kept secrets in football that Rashford had fallen out of favour with new head coach Ruben Amorim who stopped playing him in mid-December.

After weeks of being linked with moves to the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona, Rashford is expected to remain in England and move to Birmingham.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Villa have acquired the 27-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season but have an option to make it permanent in the summer.
"Marcus Rashford to Aston Villa, here we go! Agreement in place on a loan deal with over 70% of salary covered by Villa. Buy option clause worth £40m also included in the contract with potential three and a half year deal to follow."
The Mirror reports that Amorim told Rashford he would never play for the Red Devils again while he was the manager.
Amorim has also previously indicated he would rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeper coach as he remained critical of his output in training.
With Rashford now on his way out of his boyhood club, Manchester United legend Wayen Roney has shared what he needs to do to reclaim his imperious self.
"I've spoken to Marcus a couple of times and I've given him my thoughts and feelings that he needs to leave the football club because whatever is going on in his life and at Manchester United, he's not the same," he said on Stick to Football podcast.
"For him to have a fresh start, he needs to leave the club. The fact that your manager is coming out and saying that you're not training right is crazy," added the club's all-time top scorer.
The signing would be a welcome boost for Unai Emery who has fallen off the pace in the race for Champions League spots.
The club has been left short of options after Jhon Duran's move to Saudi Arabia. They have since responded with moves for Rashford and former Real Madrid man Marco Asensio.
had earlier reported that Rashford had bid his goodbyes to his Manchester United teammates ahead of the Aston Villa move.
Rashford was joined by Tyrell Malacia who is also expected to leave for Benfica this window.
