Man City get 'vote of confidence from Sheikh Mansour' after confirmed news

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on what that could mean for Man City.

Speaking on the new edition of 's Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the move is a “vote of confidence” from Sheikh Mansour, who last attended a City game when they beat Inter Milan in the 2023 Champions League final.

The ex-Everton CEO insisted the new investment is “very much a positive” amid the 115 charges legal fight with the Premier League.

He told 's Insider Track podcast: "This investment is another vote of confidence from Sheikh Mansour.

"He and Silver Lake are going to be playing ball together.

"There's no doubt he sees the group as a major investment, they've knitted together a great organisation.

"It's an investment in the overall group, not just in Man City.

"It's very much a positive and that shows there is faith in the overall structure from the UAE."

revealed on Monday (17 February) that Man City star Bernardo Silva is wanted by clubs in Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia.

Silva will assess his City future at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Kyle Walker has already moved to Italian giants AC Milan, while City's rebuild could ramp up further in June when Kevin De Bruyne is out of contract.
