Thane: A 24-year-old man and his pet dog were rescued after a major fire broke out in his 10th-floor duplex flat in a Wagle Estate high-rise late Sunday. The Thane fire brigade was alerted to the fire in the Prakruti Park building, located in Raghunath Nagar, Wagle Estate, around 9:20 p.m.
A team from the regional disaster management team and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and found the man, Ojas Mohiledeva, and his pet dog trapped inside the apartment. Both were successfully rescued. Ojas sustained minor burn injuries on his back and was immediately shifted to a private hospital, while the pet dog was unharmed, informed Yasin Tadvi, in charge of the Thane regional disaster management cell. tnn
