Magic Chess: Go Go Casts Global Spell With Season 2 Launch And 20 Million Players
MOONTON Games has announced the global launch of Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) on May 28, 2025, extending its free-to-play multiplayer strategy game to players worldwide. The launch coincides with the start of Season 2 in select regions that accessed the game during the APAC Grand Launch on Feb 21, 2025.
Since its initial release, MCGG has attracted over 20 million pre-registrations, marking it as one of the most popular mobile titles of the year. Developed by the original team behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), MCGG immerses players in the MLBB universe where they command familiar heroes in real-time Player versus Player (PvP) battles on a Chessboard with eight players competing simultaneously.
Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, said, “The community’s response to our APAC Grand Launch has been extremely positive. Besides our rapidly growing user base, we’ve seen huge engagement from the content creator community; users generate millions of views every day through gameplay videos, tutorials, and livestreams.

“We’ve also kickstarted a growing competitive ecosystem, with our first competitive esports event in Indonesia—the Magic Chess: Go Go Indonesia Community Tournament (MCCT ID)—drawing thousands of participants and spectators. We’re excited to bring this energy to players around the world in Season 2!”
Season 2, titled Blessing of Embers, introduces six new Synergies, increasing the total to ten. Synergies are unique buffs triggered when heroes from the same faction are deployed, significantly impacting gameplay.

Additionally, a new Blessing mechanic returns, allowing players to trigger additional Synergies or Roles by ascending three or more identical heroes to the same level. Activating all ten Synergies unlocks Ultra Synergy, granting a substantial boost to the player’s lineup.
Skyhook added, “The new Blessing mechanism was one of the most popular from the original Magic Chess, so we decided to bring it back for Season 2 of MCGG. It’ll be a blast from the past for old players, and a fresh way for new players to enjoy the game!”
Currently, MCGG is available for download on iOS and Android in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. For more information, players can visit the official website or follow MCGG on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
