The A. Murray MacKay Bridge in Halifax will be closed this weekend, beginning Friday, May 23 at 8 p.m. before reopening on Monday, May 26 at 5:30 a.m.

Halifax Harbour Bridges said the closure is for lane reconfiguration, cable inspections and a lighting project at the Victoria Road interchange.

"Motorists can expect a new alignment through the middle of the former toll plaza area when the bridge reopens Monday," Halifax Harbour Bridges said in a news release.

"The speed limit will be 50 km/h while the site remains a construction zone."

The closure of the MacKay Bridge includes all ramps at the Victoria Road interchange, but Victoria Road to Windmill Road will remain open.

The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be open.
