Live updates as multiple fire engines at Stoke-on-Trent hotel blaze
Multiple fire engines are tackling a blaze at a Stoke-on-Trent hotel afternoon (June 28). Police have blocked several roads in Longton surrounding the Crown Hotel in King Street.
Eye-witnesses say ambulances are also at the scene but it is not yet clear whether there are any serious injuries. An evacuation has taken place.
One StokeonTrentLive readr said: "Longton is at a stand still by the Crown Hotel. All roads are blocked off by police and there is a ambulance and three fire engines."

An investigation is to get underway after a blaze broke out at a Stoke-on-Trent hotel. Smoke was seen coming from an upper floor of the historic Crown Hotel in Longton shortly after 2pm today (June 28).
Three fire engines were sent to the scene and all residents were evacuated from the King Street building. It is understood there are no injuries although at least one ambulance was sent as a precaution.

According to eye-witnesses smoke was seen coming from an upper floor of the hotel. Fireifhgters remain on the scene dampening down. An investigation into what sparked the blaze is also underway.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters are currently dampening down following a fire at The Crown Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent earlier today. We were called at 2.18pm on Saturday (28 June) to the hotel on King Street following reports of smoke coming from a window.
"A total of three crews and an aerial ladder platform are in attendance. All residents have been evacuated and no injuries have been reported. The fire was extinguished at 2.40pm."
