Kyrie Irving was cooking on Wednesday.
The Dallas Mavericks star was too much for the Golden State Warriors to handle, posting 42 points and seven rebounds in a 111-107 win.
With no Anthony Davis available, the Mavs needed that sort of performance from Irving, who was aided by Klay Thompson (17 points, seven boards) and Max Christie (17 points, four assists)
Stephen Curry paced the Dubs with 25 points and eight assists, while Jimmy Butler added 21 points, nine boards and seven assists.
It was Golden State's first loss since acquiring Butler last week, as the team beat the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks in his first two games. The defeat dropped them to 27-27, while Dallas improved to 29-26.
And it was largely down to Kyrie, who got his flowers on social media following his fantastic performance:
When Irving gets going like he was going on Wednesday, there aren't many players in the NBA more fun to watch. By crunch time in the fourth quarter the Warriors were blitzing him with a double team every time he touched the ball, effectively daring anybody else on the Mavericks to beat them.
That created some seemingly open looks for his teammates, though Draymond Green had a few monster defensive plays to keep things close.
Nonetheless, Irving and the Mavericks secured a dramatic win, their third victory in the past four games. Dallas fans are still feeling betrayed from the shocking Luka Dončić trade, but the presence of Irving gave them something to cheer for on Wednesday.
