Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and accused of hosting “freak offs,” which were paid sexual encounters that lasted days and sometimes occurred on a weekly basis.
Last week, Diddy’s ex, , testified about allegedly being pressured into participating in the freak offs with male escorts, which the rapper allegedly filmed. She claimed that Diddy threatened to blackmail her and used the footage to control her. She also said she did not want to participate in the sexual encounters and had to be on drugs at the time in order to dissociate from the experience.
In their cross-examination of Cassie, 38, Diddy’s defense team attempted to show jurors that she was a willing participant in the encounters. They cited alleged text messages from Cassie saying she “can’t wait” to “freak off” and was “always ready,” according to NPR. Additionally, the alleged texts referenced her picking out rooms, supplies and escorts.
Cassie claimed the texts were “just words.” She had previously stated in her testimony that she sometimes initiated the acts out of fear.
Elsewhere in her testimony, Cassie claimed that she was physically abused by Diddy and recalled his allegedly controlling behavior throughout their 10-year relationship. The pair first met when she was 19 years old and he was 37 in 2005, and they began dating when she was around 21 years old.
“I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear,” Cassie said in a statement shared by her lawyer. “For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget.”
