Kofi Totobi Quakyi chairs new Ghana Gas Board

The newly appointed members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Board, and are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company.

The appointment of these individuals, according to the release signed by Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Communication, demonstrates the President’s confidence in their abilities to steer the affairs of the company.

The release further stated that the company looks forward to working with the new Board to enhance its business, tackle operational challenges, ensure quality assurance, as well as promote peaceful coexistence between the GNGLC and host communities.

At a brief ceremony to inaugurate the board, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, commended the newly appointed members for answering the call to national service.

He urged them to lead the Ghana National Gas Company with unwavering integrity, a clear vision, and a profound sense of responsibility.

The Minister emphasized the company’s pivotal role within Ghana’s energy sector, particularly its contribution to powering industry and driving national development. He also noted that the Ministry is actively working to strengthen the regulatory and financial frameworks governing the gas sector to ensure its long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

As the global energy transition accelerates, Ghana must strategically position itself, and Ghana Gas’s role in shaping this future cannot be overstated,” Hon. Jinapor affirmed.

It is our expectation that this board will prioritize enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining strict financial discipline, and fostering constructive community relations in areas affected by the company’s projects.”
