The artiste shared a screenshot of their photo, which Barasa had shared on his Instagram page in 2020. He provided the context of the image, saying:

“It was during a traffic stop on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.”

Masterpiece then slammed the officer, reminding him of his oath:

“You took an oath to serve and protect the citizens of the Republic of Kenya. Taking an oath of public service means you’ve given your life to be under public scrutiny at all times, not withholding the negative ones.
If you cannot stand oversight from the people you work for, then you can resign and let those who want to serve the public fairly and justly do so.”

The Utaniget hitmaker then invoked Article 37 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, which protects the rights of individuals to gather, protest, and engage in peaceful picketing.

“I am embarrassed to be standing next to you in this photo, and I am disgusted you were in my presence. You have betrayed the ‘honour’ of the police force, and you have gone against the oath you took to serve as a police officer.”

Masterpiece then urged the youth to unite and avoid betraying each other:

“History shall remember you. We are deciding the future of our children and this nation. Are you the change, or the enemy of your people?”

He then predicted the dawn of a new Kenya, saying that a revolution is nigh:

“I want to urge every youth and person eligible to vote to register as voters; this is how you bring change. We are voting for change, not ethnicities. Oh God of all creation, bless this our land and nation.”

Kenyans reacted by saying:

@ivonn_.e:

“Are you sure that is him?”

@v_the_deejay254:

“Well said, young king.”

@ongira__:

“Change is here with us. It is we, the people, who decide.”

@kish_my_world:

“Name and shame.”

@Nattykonshanz:

“Well said, brother.”

In other news, .co.ke reported that Klinzy deactivated his TikTok account following public outrage.

Kenyans identified Barasa through social media footage and tracked down his profiles, where he previously posted in uniform with bold captions.

Before deactivating TikTok, Barasa shared relationship content, while his Instagram showcased him in police gear, often concealing his work location. In one photo, he blurred the markings on a police vehicle.

The officer, seen during the Imenti House protest incident, had maintained a modest online following. His disappearance from TikTok came amid heavy criticism, as netizens continue demanding justice for Kariuki and calling out misconduct by law enforcement officers during the June 17 Nairobi protests.
