If you have been on social media for the past few hours, you have noticed the backlash Kikuyu artistes have received.
They visited the DP's residence on Friday, March 23, and a section of their fans have turned against them.
Some of the musicians and artists who visited Kindiki's home are Samidoh Muchoki, Karangu Muraya, Ben Githae, Jose Gatutura, DJ Fatxo, and Ngaruiya Junior, to name just a few.
Kindiki explained that the artists were at his home seeking government intervention to dismantle exploitative cartels in the industry.
The musicians' visit also ensured their talents were recognised and fairly rewarded.
"Musicians and others in the creative space are seeking government intervention to ensure exploitative cartels are removed and their talent is more rewarding," he wrote.
Kindiki noted that the visit aggrieves those in leadership who seek to exploit artists for their craft.
"Leaders who have misused musicians for composition of personal praise songs or the production of inciteful and divisive music in exchange for small monetary tokens are bound to be annoyed by this decision," he added.
Jose Gatutura, an accomplished Mugithi artiste, also released a lengthy message after receiving backlash from social media for visiting the DP's home.

The musician noted that attending Kindiki's meeting did not imply full support for the government.
"I believe I have fans from both sides whom I am supposed to entertain without being choosy. Seeing me on one side doesn't mean I am supporting or opposing the others, Jose Gatutura is a neutral based artist. I am always ready to offer my services where I am needed."
Gatutura said that artists rely on payslips and are not choosy when receiving money.
"Artists should not be limited to some places, because we don't rely on payslips, that's where we earn our money. We have bills to pay, family to feed and people around us who depend on us. I believe no one will come just from nowhere and offer me some money without me giving out my services, music is like any other business," he said.
The musician reiterated the DP's remarks on the meeting, saying that they met to discuss the welfare of creatives.
"Basically yesterday's visit was all about music, how we can benefit from it and how the government can support us and the industry at large," Gatutura added.
In other news, Mugithi king Samidoh was spotted at Kindiki's home alongside other creatives after sharing a worrying post about death.
The musician had left his fans worried about his well-being, only to resurface at the politician's home.
Samidoh also endorsed President William Ruto's re-election.
