Kenya Power technicians perform routine line maintenance, including replacing transformers and transmission lines and sometimes installing new lines.

These tasks typically require power shutdowns at substations or other locations for safety.

However, the live team services power lines and KPLC infrastructure without interrupting the power supply.

KPLC's adoption of modern technologies, including automation, has slightly reduced the need for routine maintenance over time.
