The papers also reported on South Sudan's statement about Raila Odinga's remarks over the ongoing crisis.
The paper reported on the diplomatic row caused by former prime minister Raila Odinga's statement regarding the South Sudan crisis.
Raila, who was appointed a special envoy to South Sudan, claimed President Salva Kiir denied him a chance to meet with Vice President Riek Machar and his wife Angelina Teny.
In a press briefing, Raila also alleged that he was directed by Kiir to meet with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
However, Kiir has slammed Raila, terming his statement a misrepresentation of diplomatic norms and principles.
South Sudan President Press Secretary David Amuor Majur stated that Raila's trip to Uganda was prearranged as per the normal diplomatic norm.
"The suggestion that His Excellency General Salva Kiir Mayardit requested Right Honourable Raila Odinga to meet with the President of Uganda is misrepresenting diplomatic norms and principles. It is essential to clarify that the Right Honourable Odinga's mission to Uganda was pre-arranged," Kiir said.
Majur clarified that reports of Machar and his wife being arrested were false.
"The South Sudanese government refutes the assertion that the minister of interior and her spouse, VP Riek Machar are under arrest. This claim is unfounded and does not accurately reflect the reality of the situation," he added.
The Swahili publication reported on Justin Muturi formally relinquishing his public service docket after being fired by President William Ruto.
On Tuesday, April 1, Muturi handed over the docket to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
In a statement, Muturi thanked every employee at the Public Service Ministry who supported and contributed to his efforts to strengthen public service.
"I have officially handed over the Public Service docket to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. I sincerely appreciate everyone in the Ministry who supported and contributed to our efforts in strengthening public service. It was an honor to serve," Muturi said.
The opposition threatened to move to court over the ongoing reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
In a press statement on Tuesday, April 1, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa claimed there were plans to name a partisan electoral commission.
The leaders accused President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga of planning to control the IEBC recruitment process.
They claimed individuals loyal to Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance are in a good position to secure crucial positions, ultimately paving the way for electoral fraud in the 2027 General Election.
"We are concerned that the Ruto regime is determined to control and direct the recruitment process of the IEBC commissioners with the ultimate objective of capturing the electoral management body,” Karua said.
The publication reported on the ongoing tour of President William Ruto in the Mt. Kenya region.
On Tuesday, April 1, the president started his tour of Central Kenya by launching several projects in Laikipia and Nyeri counties.
In Laikipia, the president laid the foundation stone for the construction of 10 classrooms at Nanyuki D.E.B. Primary and Junior Secondary School.
Ruto also inspected the KSh 350 million Nanyuki Modern Market and toured the Nanyuki Affordable Housing Project, which he said has created more than 1000 jobs for youths.
Addressing the residents, the president said his newfound relationship with ODM leader Raila Odinga will ensure everybody is part of the government.
"No community, county or region will be sidelined by the Broad-based Government. We are going to walk together to make our country more inclusive, prosperous and better for all," Ruto said.
