Kate Moss and Zara Launch Second Collaboration Featuring Menswear by Bobby Gillespie

Supermodel Kate Moss and the globally successful fashion brand Zara are set to continue their fruitful partnership with the announcement of a second collaborative collection for the Spring/Summer 2025 season. This new venture follows a sellout collaboration for Autumn/Winter 2024, signaling strong anticipation for their latest offering. The design of this upcoming collection is helmed by Moss herself, working closely with her long-term collaborator, stylist Katy England.
A significant addition to this SS25 collection is the inclusion of a menswear line. This new range has been overseen by Bobby Gillespie, the iconoclastic frontman of Primal Scream, who is a long-term friend of Kate Moss and husband to Katy England. This marks Gillespie's debut in fashion design. The entire collection, including both womenswear and menswear, is described as a "festival-ready, considered collection of Kate classics," heavily imbued with a strong retro influence. The design trio of Moss, England, and Gillespie delved into archives, selecting key pieces to serve as the foundation for their new designs.
Kate Moss shared her philosophy on unique fashion finds, stating, “Nothing matches the feeling of finding a one-off Piece. Just wow. The piece that only you own.” While Moss cherishes the exclusivity of such items, Zara frames this collaboration as "an egalitarian act of sharing." Through this collection, Moss has remodelled a selection of her most cherished pieces, sourced over years of "scurrilous fashion detective work" from diverse locations ranging from small-town American thrift stores to the elegant boutiques of Paris and Milan, making them accessible as centrepieces of the new Zara line.
The forthcoming collection promises an array of distinctive items. Highlights include a versatile fringed bikini designed to double as festival wear, a leather bra crafted from beautifully worn fabric, go-go boots that have been redesigned from a unique find Moss discovered two decades ago, and a sophisticated silk cream suit described as embodying the "ultimate rock star bridal moment."
Interestingly, Kate Moss revealed that the collection took an unexpected turn from her initial vision. She explained that while she expected a summer festival collection to “be more about wafty dresses… it’s a bit tougher than that.” This shift in aesthetic is attributed to the "masculine energy" emanating from Bobby Gillespie's concurrent work on his menswear collection. Moss felt this influence permeated the design process, guiding the collection to "somewhere quite unexpected."
To capture the essence of this unique collaboration, the campaign has been photographed by the renowned duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Fashion enthusiasts can look forward to acquiring pieces from the Kate Moss x Zara SS25 collection when it becomes available online and in over 120 Zara stores worldwide starting June 9.
