The incident occurred as protesters gathered on the streets after the murder of prominent blogger Albert Ojwang, whose unexplained death caused widespread unrest.

Two police officials approached a mask vendor who was discreetly selling face masks on the street.

One police officer pushed him aside forcefully, and the other abruptly raised his gun and shot him in the head without any obvious provocation.

The man fell to the ground following the gunshot, bleeding, and passersby hurried to assist him in getting to a local hospital.

The video has caused outrage, and celebrities such as Kate Actress have reacted to the video.

Kate had travelled to Gatundu to support her friend Jackie Matubia, who was laying her father to rest.

"Coming from a burial to the horrific news on the shooting of an innocent man was not in the cards today. He was hawking masks jameni," she wrote.
