Ernest Wanyama stated that his daughters were not part of the protests in the area and had been indoors the entire day until they were shot.

He further explained that they were unarmed, emphasising that there was no reason for them to have had an altercation with the police that would warrant such a response.

"The girls who were killed are my daughters. I don't know if you have seen the blood here. They were shot while inside the house," he claimed in a report by KBC.
The officer deliberately followed them and shot them here. One o the was pregnant," he stated.

Wanyama also stated that it was unfair for the police to use live bullets against locals, questioning why they would kill two people while supposedly protecting one individual.

The grieving father has called for justice, demanding that the officer responsible for his daughters' deaths be held accountable.

Demonstrations erupted in the Kona Mbaya area along the Kitale-Eldoret Highway following the death of a man under unclear circumstances.

The man, identified as Sydney, reportedly died on Sunday, 9 March, after Simon Siasipira, a Nyumba Kumi committee member, allegedly attacked him.

Angered by the incident, residents set fire to the home of the Nyumba Kumi member in protest, forcing police officers to intervene.

Unfortunately, the situation escalated, leading to the tragic deaths of two young women.

Residents have urged the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for the deaths are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, Siasipira is said to have gone into hiding, fearing for his life, as irate residents declared they did not want him living among them.

Netizens consoled the distraught dad, with many calling for justice to be served.

Prudence Monica Davis:

“Sad may their souls rest in peace, may God comfort him.”

Lydia Chemey:

“May justice prevail.”

Selector Ken:

“Accidentally, I don't think a police officer can just shoot a human anyhow we are all human beings.”

Damaris Mutune:

“The lord will serve you justice, don't worry.”

Chicha Man Basil:

“You wake up with two daughters and a grandchild in waiting and sleep without any of them alive just because of the negligence of police officers, some things are hard to accept.”

In other news, reported that a seven-month pregnant woman from Luanda, Lukuyani in Kakamega County was allegedly shot dead by a police officer.

Her husband, Edwin Wanjala, broke down in tears as he recounted his last conversation with his late wife, Sarah.

He also questioned whether the officers who shot his wife were properly trained or merely reckless goons.
