Kaduna Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Weapons

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of six suspected kidnappers and gunrunners in a series of targeted operations across the state. These operations also led to the recovery of four locally-fabricated AK-47 rifles.

DSP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed these developments, detailing the incidents that led to the arrests. On April 17th, acting on credible intelligence, police apprehended 30-year-old Isa Ibrahim at Gida Abe. Ibrahim confessed to being part of a kidnapping gang previously operating in Kwara State. Following the arrest of his accomplices in Kwara, Ibrahim had relocated to Kaduna with intentions to establish a new kidnapping cell.

In a separate operation on the same day, police in Lamido village, Lere LGA, arrested Sani Liman and Murtala Magaji, also known as 'Seto.' These suspects confessed to involvement in multiple kidnapping incidents within the area.

The crackdown extended to illegal firearms. On April 18th, police in Ikara arrested Bajo Badun from Jos, Plateau State, and Magaji Abdullahi from Kano State. These individuals were found in possession of two fabricated AK-47 rifles.

Further reinforcing their efforts, a police patrol team intercepted Ishiyaku Ali along the Kauru-Pambegua Road. Ali was found carrying a sack containing two locally-fabricated rifles and a long chain.

All suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. The police are actively pursuing other accomplices who are currently at large. Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, has assured the public of the command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and encourages the continued provision of credible and timely information.

These successful operations highlight the Kaduna State Police Command's dedication to combating crime and ensuring public safety within the state.
