Kadjebi (O/R), May 15, GNA – Kadjebi District in the Oti Region has started consultation to gather input and prepare community action plan for the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) for 2026-2029.

The initiative, which is rooted in the principles of planning, is being conducted in accordance with the National Development Planning (System) Act, 1994 (Act 480), the National Development Planning (System) Regulations, 2016 (LI.2232), and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

The Medium –Term Development Plan for the periods 2026-2029 is a strategic planning document to guide the district’s development efforts over a four-year period.

It outlines key policies, programmes, and projects aimed at improving the social, economic, and infrastructure well-being of residents within the Assembly’s jurisdiction.

Speaking at a meeting with the District Planning and Co-ordinating Unit (DPCU) members, Dr Sam Issaka Suraj, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kadjebi, called on the DPCU members to assist in gathering the relevant inputs for the MTDP preparation.

He said planning was crucial for success in various endeavours as it gives clarity and direction to an organisation or individual’s goals.

Dr Suraj stated that effective planning helps allocate resources (time, money, and human capital) efficiently, minimising waste and optimising productivity.

The DCE added that by laying out a clear and concise plan, individuals and organisations could make informed decisions based on well-defined objectives and anticipated outcomes.

Mr Gregory Tonozie, Kadjebi District Development Planning Officer, asked the DPCU members to take an active interest and fully participate in all processes of the planning preparation to actualize their development aspirations.

Mr Tonozie said the engagement was to provide a platform for them to share their perspectives, ideas, and development priorities to shape the MTDP in a way that addresses their real needs.

He said since their voices have been heard, they have a say and own the development plan.
