Juja MP George Koimburi has finally spoken out, revealing the chilling details of his alleged abduction.
His abduction had sparked intense debate in Kenya’s political circles. His disappearance had fueled speculation, with some reports suggesting he staged the abduction.
Speaking from his hospital bed, the MP refuted such claims, confirming the abduction and recounting the harrowing ordeal.
He recalled that the incident occurred on May 25, just as he was leaving a church service at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, when unknown assailants intercepted him, blindfolded him and forcefully took him into their custody.

"It was May 25. I had just attended a church service and was on my way out when I encountered goons who covered my eyes and drugged me through my nose," Koimburi narrated.
The sudden attack rendered him unconscious, and what followed remains a blur in his memory.
"When I regained consciousness the next day, I found myself in a coffee farm where I got a good Samaritan, a boda boda rider who informed my family, who came to rescue me and brought me to this hospital," he continued.
The MP went ahead to condemn not just his alleged abduction but the increased rate of forced disappearances and torture in the country. Koimburi, terming himself a first-hand victim of the abductions, called for security enforcement in the country.
"I'd like to urge Kenyans to continue praying for our country and our government. The government should also take this matter seriously; we should not let those responsible walk freely and continue with the abductions," the MP said.
Koimburi's controversial abduction led to Police IG Douglas Kanja accusing him of stage-managing it for political gains. Upon interrogation of three additional suspects in the alleged abduction, they found glaring and inconsistent gaps disabusing the forceful abduction.
The police bosses wondered why the MP, allied to former DP Rigathi Gachagua, had to fake his abduction just to subject the country to political tension.
Koimburi’s revelation has reignited security concerns and forced disappearances in Kenya, with many calling for thorough investigations into his case.
