Josh O'Connor Wears Prada and Valentino at Cannes 2025

Day 10 of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival brought the stylish arrival of one of my favourites—Josh O’Connor—who was in town promoting The Mastermind. And he came prepared with a wardrobe rotation that was equal parts throwback cool and modern flair.

Josh gave us ’60s leisure in the best way possible. The sand and ivy green bowling-style shirt already set the tone, but throw in the whitesneakers and a beige suede bowling bag and suddenly we’re on a very stylish league night. It was retro, it was playful, it was peak Josh.

Then came that swoon-worthy look. Josh is partial to a statement tee, but this one got the deluxe treatment with a navy and beige striped jacket and jeans trimmed in contrasting embroidery. The ‘60s bowling vibe transitioned smoothly into a sort of artsy intellectual off-duty moment. Beige sneakers grounded the whole look with understated ease.

This is the Josh O’Connor sweet spot—bold, a bit bookish, and far from generic. Valentino gets him.

This one has me a little conflicted. I absolutely rate the design of the suit—cropped trousers, great cut, and that ever-so-Josh pink floral brooch. The brown jacket and dark grey trousers worked together beautifully. But the light blue shirt? I’d kindly swap it for something cream or even tonal—just enough to tie it all together.

And then he hit us with this look. Quite possibly one of his best ensembles to date. The mauve coat alone deserves its own moment, but pair it with the floral motif tee, slightly cropped trousers, and white sneakers, and this is everything I want from Josh’s style. It had personality, it had dimension, and more importantly, it had that signature ease. The brown floral brooch added just the right amount of flair that didn’t feel overcooked considering the floral top.

After a short quiet period where his style felt a bit on mute, Josh is officially back in his 2021 fashion groove. This was Cannes done his way—with charm, with intention, and a little offbeat. Just how we like it.
