Jason Kelce's daughter Benny is on the way to making amends with the Eagles mascot.
After a tumultuous first meeting last year, in which the former NFL player's now 2-year-old Bennett "Benny" shyly refused to give Swoop, the Philadelphia Eagles mascot, a high five, the two are on their way to becoming besties.
In the video posted to the Eagles' X account, Benny can be seen sitting on her dad's hip, wearing a green Philadelphia Eagles T-shirt and staring at Swoop as he gets closer. The next shot shows Swoop waving to Benny, who is carried by another woman. She sweetly waves back, but still looks a little scared. Swoop turns to the camera and makes a gesture as if to say, "Yes!"
"They'll be besties in no time 😂," the Eagles X account wrote in the caption of the post.
Jason shares daughters Benny, Elliotte, 4, Wyatt, 5, and baby Finnley "Finn," born in March, with wife Kylie Kelce.
Last May, the Philadelphia Eagles posted a video on their TikTok account of Jason and his daughter, Benny, as she met Swoop for the first time. In the video, the retired NFL player could be seen carrying his daughter, saying, "You wanna meet Swoop?" after the little girl pointed toward the mascot.
Walking closer, Swoop caught sight of Benny, waving and grabbing a stuffed animal for the toddler. As Swoop got closer, Benny looked very unsure as he approached, shyly refusing to give the mascot a high five before the father-daughter duo headed out.
Earlier this month, Jason spoke with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the Amazon Upfront event in New York City and was asked how his older daughters are adjusting to becoming older siblings to their baby sister Finnley.
"They're getting there. I think the older two right away," the dad of four said. "They love trying to...They like being like mom, and they like being around the newborn."
"Our youngest, Benny, she took some warming up, but she's starting to get there, so that's been good," added Jason.
Benny also had a less-than-enthusiastic reaction to becoming a big sister in the Kelce family's pregnancy announcement photo.
"I feel like we captured a very accurate representation of how each of the girls feel about getting another sister," Kylie wrote in the Instagram caption. "At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page! 🤷♀️"
The three girls showed a range of emotions, with Wyatt looking in disbelief as her cupped her hands to her head. Elliotte smiled wide for the camera, and Bennett was pictured sobbing.
