James Taylor enjoyed a hugely successful run on charts all around the world throughout the '70s, and in some places, he remains a favorite among a huge following. The singer-songwriter doesn’t churn out albums and singles like he did during his first commercially successful period, but in the right moment, some of his older collections can become wins once more.

This week is a big one for Taylor on the charts of the United Kingdom, especially one list in particular. Three of the musician’s projects debut on the Official Album Downloads ranking, which lists the most downloaded releases throughout the country.

Before this frame, Taylor had only landed three wins on the Official Album Downloads chart. That means that in just one moment, he doubled his total number of hits on the tally, and he didn’t even have to release a single new effort.

Among the trio, Live at the Troubadour debuts highest. Taylor’s live album with Carole King, his longtime friend, opens at No. 20 on the Official Album Downloads chart.

The folk and acoustic pop superstar manages a second new top 40 win this week on the downloads roster. His simply-titled Greatest Hits comes in at No. 30 this time around. Another compilation of Taylor’s most famous singles, The Essential, also debuts on the same ranking. That compilation comes in much lower than Greatest Hits, as it launches at No. 57 on the U.K.'s downloads list.

Taylor’s music is back in the spotlight in the United Kingdom this week after the BBC Two channel recently aired a documentary that focused on his relationship with King, who also enjoyed incredible commercial success around the same time that Taylor first broke into the mainstream. The aptly-titled Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name reached enough longtime fans and possible new ones to help Taylor collect his trio of downloaded bestsellers.

King also benefits from the documentary airing as Live at the Troubadour marks only her second appearance on the Official Album Downloads chart. The singer-songwriter’s only other win, her masterpiece, Tapestry, also bounds back onto the tally this frame at No. 9.
