Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has revealed she was approached to go into the jungle for Channel Ten’s hit reality series I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The radio queen, 49, made the admission on her Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday after co-host Kyle Sandilands apparently teased her appearance on the show last week.

Jackie was asked by a caller, Kylie, if she had been approached by producers to appear on the 2025 season.

“No, I wasn’t,” Jackie revealed before admitting, “I’ve been there before, but no, I wasn’t approached [this year].’

Kyle then claimed that the show was for celebrities whose stars are on the wane – a sentiment shared by many viewers after the show’s premiere on Sunday night.

“It’s just celebrities who don’t have a career, or a career that ended years ago,” Kyle said.

Jackie refuted Kyle’s claim and brought up iconic cricketer Shane Warne’s performance in 2016.

“We’re not talking about twelve years ago, we’re talking about this year,” Kyle replied.

Referring to the current crop of celebrities, Kyle added: “All these people don’t have jobs. I want to see them, don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad celebrities.

“But you have to be in a certain position in your life to go into the jungle in desperation.”

He continued, “Warnie got two million dollars, and for half of that we’re all going to the jungle, let’s be honest.”

Jackie’s confession comes after viewers watched the season 11 premiere of I’m A Celebrity on Sunday night.

Viewers took to social media to brand the show ‘not funny’ and label the large group of 2025 celebrity contestants as ‘nobodies’.

The 2025 series features Love Island star Tina Provis, footballer Zach Tuohy, comedian Geraldine Hickey, TV star Nicky Buckley and influencer Max Baleggen.

During Monday’s Kyle and Jackie O show, the radio queen revealed that while she wasn’t on the producer’s radar this season, she had been approached in the past.

“It’s just celebrities who don’t have a career, or a career that ended years ago,” co-host Kyle Sandilands added.

Also starring are Married At First Sight’s Samantha Moitzi, Olympian Shayna Jack, comedian Dave Hughes and rugby league player Sam Thaiday.

Reality stars Reggie Bird, known from Big Brother, and former bachelor Matty Johnson round out the list.

Not everyone watching was entertained, however, as several people shared their thoughts on X.

‘The lowest common denominator with desperate ex-people. Can’t they invest in Australian actors, directors and writers instead?’ wrote one person.

“The biggest bullshit ever,” said another, while another posted: “Some of Julia’s jokes are older than me. And not that funny.’

‘At this point I’ve only heard of four celebrities. Lowest ever for me,” someone else chimed in.

“Look at the way they look at each other trying to figure out who each other is. Absolutely no idea,” said another.

“This has to be the worst selection of so-called celebrities ever,” someone else wrote.

“At this stage Raygun would have been a great addition, who are these people?” said one viewer.

“Yes, this show peaked last year and its fall from grace is extreme. No more #ImACelebrityAU for me,” wrote another.

Last year I’m A Celebrity was said to have been on the chopping block until a ratings-saving addition was made to the jungle series.

Ny Breaking Australia exclusively revealed that the show, which sees celebrities living in the jungle with little comfort, would not return last year.

According to an inside source, host Julia Morris told a close friend that she wasn’t sure the show would happen again until Robert Irwin was introduced to the series.
