The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) has appointed Yoram Elgrabli as its new tourism commissioner for North America, tasking him with revitalizing travel to Israel and strengthening the country’s position as a top global destination. In this role, he will lead business partnerships, marketing strategies, and public relations initiatives across the United States and Canada, ensuring increased tourism and market expansion.
A Veteran in Aviation and Tourism Leadership
Elgrabli brings over two decades of experience from El Al Israel Airlines, where he played a pivotal role in marketing, sales, and operational growth. Most recently, he served as general manager for North & Central America, overseeing strategic initiatives that enhanced revenue and expanded routes.
Since joining El Al in 2002, Elgrabli has held various leadership roles, including chief of staff for the sales and customer division, managing director for Western Europe, and other senior executive positions that contributed to the airline’s commercial success.
Transformative Leadership in Expanding Air Travel
Under Elgrabli’s leadership, El Al saw significant revenue growth over the past four years. He spearheaded the launch of four new North American destinations, expanded five additional routes, and played a key role in strengthening customer loyalty programs, resulting in substantial membership growth.
