Cambodia welcomes a new boat link connecting Thailand, Vietnam, and its coastal gems, promising seamless travel and fresh experiences for regional tourists.
Cambodian tourism stakeholders have expressed strong support for the proposed boat link connecting Thailand’s Trat province with Cambodia’s Kep and Kampot, as well as Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island. They believe this initiative will significantly enhance regional tourism and attract a greater number of visitors to Cambodia’s scenic coastal regions.
Steve Lidgey, the general manager of Travel Asia a la Carte, praised the collaborative effort and emphasized the importance of creating a “straightforward and hassle-free” border-crossing process to maximize the route’s potential.
He further noted that the new connection could particularly appeal to returning tourists who have already explored popular destinations like Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, offering them fresh travel experiences along Cambodia’s coast.
